Strawberry Nectarine Fruit Salad


This is the season of the fruit salads! And you know, right before fall the nectarine are incredibly tasty and perfect for a salad, along with the peaches. All types of nectarines are very good, but in my opinion, right before fall the white ones are the best!

This salad is great for many occasions. It can easily replace your breakfast or lunch, you can use it as a snack in the middle of the day, you can make more of it and use it as a very healthy and tasty snack during a teaparty, instead of baking a cake or cupcakes!

So, what are the needed ingredients for this amazing strawberry nectarine fruit salad?

  • 2 to 3 large white nectarines, cut into chunks with removed pit and stem
  • 8 to 10 fresh strawberries with removed stems and cut in quarters
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • about 4 leaves of thinly sliced fesh mint

So, now that we have all of the ingredients on the list above, let’s get down to bussiness!

Mix together the chopped strawberries and nectarines in a bowl, along with the honey and the lemon juice. Let it stay like that for a few minutes, around 15-20, so that the fruits can macerate.

Right before you decide to serve it, gently toss the fresh mint leaves. This salad has an amazing smell, especially when it’s accompanied with mint.

After trying the salad, if you find it a bit tart for your taste you can simply sprinkle suger over it. If it’s too sweet – sprinkle a bit of more lemon juice. The level of sweetness and tartness depends both on your own taste and on the fruits themselves.

You should know by now that the proportions of this salad are flexible and, of course, if you are more of a strawberry person you can chop and put more of the red sweetness. Same goes for the nectarines. If you do not fancy mint, you can also skip the mint leaves. It’s all up to you!
