How to Wear High-Waisted Pants

0

If you have asked what I think about about high-waisted pants a year or two ago, I would say that they are the ugliest thing I have ever seen! Now, I’m not only into them, but can’t wait to buy a new pair and style them for the new season. Therefore, it’s all about perspective. High-waisted pants can be seen as something only our mothers would wear or a trendy piece that has to be included in every fashionista’s closet. To make you understand what I’m talking about, I’ll give you some styling tips for how to wear high-waisted pants and look stunning (and trendy!):

When wearing high-waisted pants it’s all about how you want to feel. If you want to feel comfortable and look casual, you can pair high-waisted jeans with some Converse shoes and a loose crop top. Add a bomber jacket or a cardigan to make the look more fall-appropriate. Another option is to go for loose high-waisted pants in pastel colors and pair them with flats and a tucked-in blouse to which you can add a statement necklace and, again, a cardigan. These two look are more for a casual day with your friends or boyfriend.

If you want to wear this type of pants in the office, choose a pair in a more neutral color, like khaki or burgundy, and add a tailored blue shirt. I love how khaki and burgundy look together so you can put a burgundy sweater over the shirt with the collar peeking. Your heels don’t have to be high, because the high-waisted pants make your legs look longer than they are. When it comes to accessories, a stylish watch and stud earrings are enough for an office look. If your boss is more liberal and you have more freedom to wear whatever you want, go for some vibrant colored pants but pair them with a neutral colored blouse and neutral shoes.

When it comes to high-waisted pants (and skirts), the best decision is to pair them with a crop top. Because of the season, it’s not a good idea to go for a cropped tank or T-shirt, so choose a cropped shirt with long sleeves in one of the colors that are not right now (like purple, burgundy, lime greem). If you want, you can add a floppy hat and big sunglasses to make your look more fashionable and mysterious. When you choose your shoes go for strappy heels when it’s warmer, and pointed stilletos when the weather get’s colder.
