DIY Moisturizing Cream Soap

0

We are back with another great idea of how to make homemade cosmetics! This time it is a moisturizing cream soap and you won’t have to wonder if the weird chemicals in it can harm your skin because you will do it yourself!

If you suffer from extremely dry skin and you want even your soap to have a nice moisturizing effect, this is the recipe for you! You will need:

  • 1 bar soap

  • 4-6 cups water

  • 1 tablespoon glycerin

  • 2 cups vegetable shortening

  • 1 cup coconut oil

  • 10-15 drops of essential oils by choice (almond oil, avocado oil, argan oil, lavender oil, etc)

  1. Shred the bar of soap.

  2. Put the shredded soap into a pot with 4 cups of water and leave it on low to medium heat.

  3. The soap will start dissolving in water (some pieces may remain whole – don’t worry!).

  4. Once most of the soap has melted, add the glycerin and place it into styrofoam cups until the mixture cools.

  5. After it has cooled a little, add the coconut oil and the essential oils and stir until it is homogenuous.
