Crossed Bun

Here is a very easy but still stylish hairstyle for all of you who are not afraid to put their hair up in a bun, to show off their beautiful face features. As a plus you will receive a great crossed bun and the compliments of all the people around you.

Before beginning make sure that your hair is clean and well-combed. And you will only need a bun base, a lot of large bobby pins, a few elastic bans. Let’s begin!

  1. Starting from the top of your head, your crown, part your hair. You will need only two pieces of hair, the ones which go down right behind your ears. You will need them later.

  2. Now pull the rest of the hair back and make a loose ponytail. This is the base for the bun. Here you have the freedom to choose whether it should be higher or lower. On the picture it is shown a lower version, on the level of the neck.

  3. Tease the ponytail a little but do not overdo it because the effect won’t be the same.

  4. Now wrap the ponytail into a bun. You will need a bun base (doughnut) or if you don’t have one you can use an old pair of socks to create it yourself. Secure your hair with large bobby pins.

  5. Now, moving back to the two locks of hair you left aside, do an inside-out french braid, start from your hairline and continue down behind your ears.

  6. Braid all of the lock all the way down and secure it with an elastic ban in nude color, so it does not show through the hair.

  7. Make the two braids identical.

  8. Carefully tug the braids appart to create some volume. Start from the hairline going down to the end of the braid.

  9. Now cross the braids over the bun. Secure them with bobby pins so they don’t fall down.

  10. Remove the elastic bans that have secured the braids and tease the hair a little again to create volume.

  11. Continue wrapping the braids around the bun and secure them with bobby pins.

  12. Do it until both braids are wrapped.

  13. If there is any remaining hair, tuck it under the bun and secure it again with bobby pins.

And your crossed bun is ready in just 13 lucky steps. Have fun!
