Cold Water – Body’s Best Friend

Yes, it’s true – the cold water strengthens the body in so many ways. A Moscow specialist on Chinese therapy proved that cold shower strengthens the body. It’s not a surprise that such a discovery comes from northern country – Russia. The specialist, doctor Sergey Bubnovsky, recommends to dip in our bare feet in cold water in order to strengthen our immunity.

Other smart people from Germany also support that opinion. They’d made some researches and the conclusion is that people who spend 2 minutes daily under the cold shower are less likely to catch a cold or a flu.

In many cultures, it’s a tradition to strengthen the body’s of the youngsters with cold water. And the scientists highly recommend the cold shower in front of the hot one, because it’s way more healthier this way.

A research in Prague shows how the bodies’ of young sportsmen react to cold showers. They had to get cold showers at least  times a week for 6 weeks. The temperature of the water was no more than 14° C. The final results show that after the cold shower there were some changes in the sportsmen bodies. The number of two types blood cells has increased – monocytes and lymphocytes, which are responsible for the destruction of various pathogens. It’s also recorded that after the cold shower the blood flow is better and the sportsmen are full of energy. It also feels refreshing and helps the skin to glow and look fresh and perfect.

As the blood flow is better, that prevents from getting varicose veins and high blood pressure. But be careful, neither cold or hot shower is recommended for people with cardiovascular diseases or people with increased risk of such diseases.

Cold showers improve breathing and lung function. While you are having a cold shower you are taking deep, common breaths, which gives the organs with more oxygen.

It’s a well known fact that cold water is a beauty-friendly too. It tightens the pores of the skin and the hair follicles on the head. And the bad hot water dries the skin, hair and nails.

We saw that cold water is good for the health and the beautiful look of our bodies, but there is more. It also helps with the stress. Cold shower relieves the stress and improves the mood, because the cold water stimulates the production of noradrenaline – a chemical substance, secreted by neurons, which have antidepressant properties. So, when you are calm and happy, your body will thank you. Take a cold shower once in a while and you will see great results yourself.
