Chapped Lips Treatments

0

Chapped lips are usual for the winter season. As much as you dress, even the scarf cannot prevent your lips from being damaged. It is stated that you lose up to 10 more moisture through your lips than you do elsewhere on your face and body.

The air during the colder season is drier than any other time of the year, the blasts of wind and the low humidity dehydrate the lips and make them fragile, which ends up showing by splits and cracks.

Just like you have, I have also wondered how to prevent this from happening, because not only are your lips chapped, but they also hurt a lot and are very sensitive to everything. So, let’s see what we can do about it, huh?

Stop Licking your Lips

Just stop! Right there. Don’t do it. You should learn not to. The saliva dehydrates the skin, even it seems logical for it to be moisturizing. It only makes it worse when you lick your lips. Another very bad habit that most of us are picking, is the scrubbing, peeling and biting the skin on our lips. Bad habits like that should be demolished.

Honey remedy

This is one of the most common homemade remedy. Not only is the honey a great moisturizer but it’s a natural healer. Simply apply the honey on your chapped lips a few times a day and after the first treatment you will find your lips getting very soft and gentle. After a few more times your lips will start healing.

Coconut Oil

This is also a natural moisturizer. Apply pure coconut oil several times a day on your lips to keep them moist and you will see the difference soon after!

Castor Oil

Yes, castor oil can be used for basically every part of your body. Apply it a few times a day, but you can also add a few more ingredients for a soothing treatment. A teaspoon of castor oil, a teaspoon of glycerin and a few drops of lemon juice mixed well and applied on your lips before going to bed.

Lip Balm

If you are unable to treat your lips with homemade remedies during the day, mainly because you are out, you should use a lip balm. Apply it whenever you feel your lips get dry and dehydrated! There are many kinds of balms in the drug store, search for the best one for you and the one you like the most, both aroma and taste.
